A Very British Pop-Up

I have always thought that it is so important to push yourself out of your comfort zone and try something new.

Several weeks ago, we did just that. My daughter, Alexandra, and I flew to London and hosted a small pop-up shop for the first time, at Valery Demure’s Objet D'Emotion Gallery. It was an incredible experience, and we were buoyed by the fact that one of my best and oldest friends lives in London, as do a great deal of my family; it felt very much like home the entire time we were there.

The shop itself was perfect for our first solo experience, located in the charming Marylebone neighborhood of London, filled with shops, galleries, and cafes. My friend Lisa and her partner Steve hosted a most fabulous party to celebrate our venture, which took place in Steve's truly one-of-a-kind office space- the only retail store housing the fuselage of a jet. The lovely Melanie Grant of the Economist and author of Coveted also moderated an interesting and very introspective talk together with me.

We partied, we showed our jewels, and we spent time with our dearest friends and family... overall, the perfect few weeks!

Where will we be next? We shall wait and see!
