The Grace de Monaco Tavous is a reimagination of classic beauty. Created to commemorate Princess Grace of Monaco, the Grace de Monaco Tavous draws inspiration from the Princess’ timeless elegance, as well as her favourite colour and favourite flower. The Grace de Monaco Tavous was debuted by luxury brand Grace de Monaco at the 2021 Princess Grace Foundation Fundraiser in Monaco. The Foundation aims to continue the Princess’ commitment to patronage in the arts by empowering artists of all disciplines with grants and awards programs.
The name “Tavous” comes from the Persian word for peacock, as the original design inspiration emerged from the bravura and magnificence displayed by these exquisite birds during their plume presentations.
Fourteen Carats
The Grace de Monaco Tavous is an eighteen-karat gold and platinum necklace showcasing an ornate ode to the Princess’ favourite flower, the orchid. The large central medallion is composed of a kaleidoscope of yellow hues, the Princess’ favourite colour, paired with white accents, the Princess’ preferred colour combination. The primary motif is composed of a dynamic collection of gemstones and diamonds, and features a fabulous 14.2 carat lemon citrine square encircled by a collection of white diamonds. Eight tendrils set with white diamonds sprout from yellow sapphire half moons. Further extending outwards are lemon citrine carved flowers dotted with yellow sapphires, briolettes capped with white diamonds, and oval cabochons surrounded by white diamonds, forming radiating patterns of four motifs.
The pendant is connected to its white diamond encrusted bail by a linked bright pear-faceted lemon citrine and square-faceted yellow sapphire.
To Catch A Queen
The Grace de Monaco Tavous may be worn as a necklace when suspended from its sixteen-inch platinum chain, or as a brooch when the pendant is styled by itself. The piece’s versatility was inspired by the Princess’ own dualities: American and Monégasque, Hollywood star and European princess. Regardless of her role, Princess Grace always held ultimate poise and exemplified elegance. With its different options for styling, the Grace de Monaco Tavous is unique in its adaptability as well as its one-of-a-kind design.
